And so it began

Our Story

beo — the Irish word for life, living; simply, to be alive and well — was founded in 2017 by Sharon Connellan and Aoibhín Garrihy with a simple but powerful intention: to create a space where wellbeing felt accessible, supportive and real.

What began as a single idea has, almost a decade later, grown into something much bigger — beo is now a thriving community and lifestyle brand rooted in connection, care and conscious living.

Today, beo is expressed through two locations in the west of Ireland — home to both co-founders and a constant source of inspiration for the brand. The Well, our coffee house nestled in the heart of Ennis town, and The Cottage, our coastal concept store on Main Street in Lahinch, are both extensions of beo — physical spaces that bring the brand to life.

The wild Atlantic coastline, the pace of life, and the strong sense of community found here continue to shape everything we do — influencing the way our spaces feel and the experiences we create, grounded in warmth, intention and a deep connection to place.

At our core, our purpose remains clear:
We exist to support everyday wellbeing by creating welcoming and intentional spaces, products and experiences where people can gather, recharge and feel more connected to themselves, their community and the world around them.

A key part of how we bring this to life is through our events. From our much-loved Slow Sundays to retreats, beo run club, beo book club, paint & sip classes and seasonal gatherings, these moments are at the heart of beo — creating space for connection, creativity and community, and inviting people to slow down and be present.

As we continue to grow, we are committed to doing so thoughtfully and responsibly — considering the impact of our decisions on our community, our team, our customers and the environment.

We are building beo around what matters most:

  • People — fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for our team and community
  • Purpose — ensuring our work contributes positively to wellbeing and connection
  • Planet — making mindful choices to reduce our environmental impact
  • Integrity — operating with honesty and care in everything we do

beo is more than a brand. It’s a growing ecosystem of spaces, experiences and conversations designed to support modern life in a more balanced, intentional way.

As we look to the future, our focus is on continuing to evolve beo with purpose — deepening our impact, strengthening our community, and creating meaningful experiences rooted in connection, place and wellbeing.
